‘Simply I’

The singer, musician, composer and entertainer Udo Jürgens currently rides a wave of success similar to the peak of his long career. Firstly, for months, he has seen an enthusiastic public cueing for tickets in front of Hamburg’s Light Opera Theatre to see his musical ‘Ich war noch niemals in New York’ [I have yet to see New York]. This was followed by his studio album ‘Einfach ich’ [Simply I] which entered the Top 10 charts stunning him, even though he is used to success. Finally, the live recording of ‘Ich war noch niemals in New York’ went straight into the Top 20 of the German album charts. Now, the composer of around 1,000 songs keeps his promise and simultaneously announces his 2009 tour along with his ‘latest brainchild’, an exciting live performance with a large orchestra. Even before the publication of his album, he indicated the importance of the live-qualities of his songs.
